With the update to tvOS 17.2, Apple has unveiled a redesigned Apple TV app designed to make it more intuitive and easier for users to find content, as well as a new sidebar that allows users to navigate more seamlessly.
In addition to Apple Original series and films, MLS Season Pass, and the Apple Store where users can buy and rent content, shortcuts to other apps like Disney+. Paramount+ and Max, the redesigned app’s highlight is a sidebar that introduces Home, which the company calls a “unified guide” for all content.
In Home, a Channels & Apps section allows users to browse each of their subscribed channels or connected apps in depth, Apple says. Home will also include new collections – such as new content, top charts and trending, and content tailored to the user.
On living room devices, the sidebar will also include profiles, so families can quickly switch between users for better personalization in recommended content.
The redesigned Apple TV app also features an updated Store tab that unifies movies and TV shows into one offering to help users more easily access everything they can buy or rent. This also includes a new Add Channels & Apps shelf where users can explore popular streaming services.
