Imagine being able to take a Zoom call from your couch, but instead of a small screen and the built-in camera, microphone and speakers on your laptop, you’re using a big TV and your Apple device. Now that’s possible, as Zoom has officially released its Apple TV meeting app that allows users to take calls on their Apple TV 4K (2nd generation or later) using an iPhone or iPad as the camera.
This is the same functionality as bringing Facetime to Apple TV using the Continuity Camera to wireless connect iPhones or iPads to use their cameras and microphones. Apple first announced these features in September, and they are now rolling out.
The company also promised a new tvOS app from Webex that will similarly leverage Continuity Camera, but that has yet to be added to the App Store.
For Zoom users, this will require a separate Zoom app – Zoom for Home TV on the Apple TV App Store. Users need to install the app and sign in with their Zoom account to start or join meetings.
The app also features the ability to start and join Zoom meetings with one click, HD audio and video, a calendar integration, the ability to easily invite people via phone, email or Zoom contacts, an in-meeting chat and breakout rooms.

In a blog post last month, Cisco says its Webex app would soon be available for download on the Apple TV App Store. However, the app is not yet live.
“After installing the Webex app on Apple TV 4K, users simply scan the QR code with iPhone for a seamless login experience,” Cisco wrote in the blog. “They can then take advantage of the big screen, whether it’s in your living room or the office.”
The news follows another major feature update for Apple TV where users can now access their ExpressVPN service through their Apple TV.
