VPN provider ExpressVPN is launching a new Apple TV app and improving the Android TV app experience to give users more privacy and security when streaming content.
The new ExpressVPN for Apple TV is designed to make it easier for users to watch their favorite content while enjoying the privacy and security of a VPN. The app, available in the App Store on Apple TV, will connect users to a server location in any of 105 countries around the world.
The Apple TV app is powered by Lightway, ExpressVPN’s modern VPN protocol, which offers reliability and fast speeds for a streaming experience with minimal buffering. The company pledges to continue to improve the Apple TV app.
ExpressVPN also announced three improvements to the native app for Android TV and related devices, including Amazon Fire TV and Fire Stick.
The company is introducing a more seamless sign-in experience that allow suers to log into their account by using their phone to scan a QR code on their Android TV screen.

The company bills the ability to change location to widen entertainment options, encryption and privacy as the key benefits of using a VPN with Apple TV and Android TV.
However, ExpressVPN also highlights its Aircove Wi-Fi router with built-in ExpressVPN functionality. To help protect other TVs and smart home devices that don’t provide native support for VPN apps, such as doorbells and game consoles.
According to ExpressVPN, the company now offers apps for most popular platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebooks, Android, iOS, Kindle Fire, Nook HD, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV stick, Android TV and supported Wi-Fi router models.
In addition, ExpressVPN also supports devices that can’t install a VPN directly via its MediaStreamer service, such as Samsung smart TVs, LG smart TVs, Roku, Chromecast, and gaming consoles.
