Providing both the business and residential technology markets with a new, affordable network switch solution, Netgear has just announced its GS108X unmanaged network switch.
Netgear says that its latest switch features a 10G SFP+ port for non-blocking uplink over longer distances, and the product is energy efficient to offer users a cost-conscious networking solution. Netgear emphasizes the GS108X unmanaged network switch is capable of growing with a users’ needs, and the unit provides seamless connectivity to networking components that include routers.
The company also points out the GS108X unmanaged switch is easy to setup and besides its 10G SFP+ port, the switch offers eight 1G ports that are capable of delivering gigabit speeds. Some of the other features the unmanaged switch provides users include flexible placement options that includes desktop and wall mounting, as well as plug-and-play compatibility, LED indicators on each port that communicates network connectivity status, and automatic negotiation for automatic connection at the highest common speed between the switch and end device.
Netgear adds the fanless GS108X unmanaged network switch comes in a metal case, and the unit also employs advanced features such as 802.1p traffic prioritization and jumbo frame support.
