The outdoor audio and lighting manufacturer Coastal Source, has announced the introduction of Contour, a new entry point outdoor speaker with a low-profile design that integrators can install as a landscape or hardscape solution.
“Contour follows the traditions set by our groundbreaking Bollard Speakers,” boasts Franco D’Ascanio, CEO, Coastal Source CEO Franco D’Ascanio. “But its refined shape, mounting options, and driver configuration make this speaker a great entry point to the Coastal Source sound experience.”
The N.J.-based manufacturer states the new low-profile Contour speaker has flexible mounting configurations. Coastal Source explains that its latest product can go almost anywhere a homeowner wants to listen to their music in an outdoor environment, including on the landscape, in a corner of a patio, or mounted on a deck, wall, or ceiling.
Coastal Source points out that its Contour products are built to be a part of a complete Coastal Source Plug+Play system or, the company notes, the new speaker line can be easily integrated into existing outdoor systems.
Elaborating on the design of its latest speaker, the company adds that sound quality flows from the speaker’s rigid, solid, composite one-piece enclosure that is designed and engineered to withstand a range of environmental weather conditions for a prolonged period of time. Internally, the new Contour loudspeaker incorporates custom drivers that include a 1-inch tweeter and a 5.25-inch mid-bass woofer. The company also notes that a high-quality component crossover controls the drivers, and the speaker employs a specially designed fractal wave guide that acts as the tweeter bridge for improved efficiency outdoors.
