This project began with a simple but transformative change: eliminating traditional electrical switches in favor of a sophisticated keypad lighting system, which offered both style and streamlined functionality. Linear lighting and canvas LEDs were integrated into the design of various rooms to strike the perfect mix between accentuation and ambiance, says Justin Dohman, owner of Elite AV & Lighting.
“In the world of high-end audio-visual and lighting design, $100K may sound substantial, but it’s a testament to skill and collaboration when it’s translated into a seamless symphony of aesthetics and function,” Dohman says. “This project presented the unique challenge of delivering uncompromised quality within a stringent budget.”
With that somewhat limited budget Dohman noted, the company had to figure out how to create that balance between functionality and aesthetic elegance. This required collaborating with Atwood Custom Homes and their interior designer.
However, Elite AV and Lighting was the “maestro in this orchestra of various trades,” Dohman remarks, scrutinizing every detail of the project to ensure the technology worked well with the architecture and design.
“The result is a home that doesn’t merely dazzle the eye but resonates with the soul, all while keeping the scales balanced on the budgetary front,” Dohman says. “A true masterpiece of compromise and collaboration.”
The Future of Digital Lighting & Control
As a custom integrator, lighting is in demand. Effective communication, education and showcasing the value proposition of LED light fixtures in conjunction with integrative control systems are the keys to overcoming challenges and closing sales in this specialized market. Join us as we discuss the future of digital lighting and control with David Warfel from Light Can Help You and Patrick Laidlaw and Mark Moody from AiSPIRE. Register Now!To do this, the group used linear lighting and canvas LEDs to integrate lighting into the design of various rooms to create an atmosphere featuring the flamboyance of Las Vegas with the subtlety of modern design.
The more dazzling features include an entertainment room with three 85-inch Samsung TVs harmonized with a Paradigm Elite surround-sound system, all powered by a Denon AV receiver.
Beyond that room, Paradigm Elite ceiling speakers are found in nearly every space, including the living room, kitchen, patio and pool area and master suite.
“Visitors to this home are often left awestruck, not by glaring screens or bulky sound systems, but by the immersive experience of a space where technology serves silently in the background, amplifying the ambiance without intruding upon it,” Dohman adds. “It’s where the allure of Vegas is sensed, not seen — a true testament to the art of hidden tech.”
