Building upon its previous generation, headphone product, Meze Audio has announced its Empyrean II headphones.
The new planar magnetic headphones feature the company’s latest industrial designs that includes a CNC-milling construction process, along with a matte-black finish with silver accents. The Romanian manufacturer also points out the Empyrean II headphones also feature a redesigned grille that is said to draw inspiration from art deco patterns.
Meze Audio states that its engineering team worked with Rinaro Audio to employ the company’s Isodynamic Hybrid Array Driver that is said to produce high levels of clarity, image depth and musical enjoyment. Meze Audio elaborates further by explaining, the Isodynamic Hybrid Array Driver combines individual switchback and spiral-shaped voice coils in a driver that is said to better direct sound.
Some of the other attributes of the Empyrean II headphones include a hybrid magnet array that places neodymium magnets in a specific arrangement into the hybrid array. Meze Audio also points out the planar magnet headphones feature Rinaro’s Isomagnetic ear cup to ear pad technology coupling technology that is said to make swapping ear pads easy.
Meze Audio adds the Empyrean II headphones are lightweight to provide users high levels of comfort for long listening sessions, and the company emphasizes the headphones are also fully serviceable in the event the headphones require maintenance.
The headphones rated frequency response is 8Hz to 11kHz with an impedance rating of 32 ohms. In addition, the headphones are 105dB sensitive, and they are capable of producing SPL levels as high as 130dB.
