Patrick Laidlaw, Director of Business Development-Integration, AiSPIRE/WAC Lighting
Patrick grew up in the lighting business working in lighting showrooms and supply houses at an early age. He began his professional career as a Lighting Sales Representative in Michigan, which spanned 30 years. In 2016, he sold his Agency and transitioned to the manufacturing side, with WAC. Patrick joined as Director of Business Development for the Distribution and Specification channels. In 2021, AiSPIRE was launched and he now runs this integrator channel.
Patrick has a passion for lighting and sharing how it can improve people’s lives. “We know more about the human body and how it’s affected by light than we ever have in the history of human-kind. Proper lighting can make ALL the difference.”
David Warfel, Chief Evangelist of Light, Light Can Help You
David Warfel is a multi-disciplinary lighting designer with over twenty years of experience at the convergence of architecture, performance, and experience. David’s unique approach to lighting design results in architectural spaces with heightened drama and immersive experiences with exceptional architectural reality. His work has been featured at New York’s Carnegie Hall, Las Vegas’ Rio, MGM Grand, and Luxor Casinos, Chicago’s Hyde Park Arts Center, Museum of Science and Industry, and Organic Theatre Company, residential projects in more than a dozen states, and on multiple Royal Caribbean cruise ships.
His company, Light Can Help You, partners with custom integrators to deliver exceptional lighting design across the continent. David is an acclaimed presenter and former head of theatrical lighting design at the University of Illinois. His work has been featured in Fine Homebuilding, Technology Designer, Designing Lighting, Lighting & Sound America, Lighting Australia, Lighting Design & Application, Live Design, Theatrical Design & Technology, and as a frequent contributor on Houzz.com.
Mark Moody, Product Manager – Controls & Integration, WAC Lighting
Mark grew up in the UK, graduated from the University of Birmingham. He began his career at Legrand where he started his lighting control journey working alongside central London Specifiers and Electrical Contractors deploying a unique line of commercial controls.
As Product Manager, he had the opportunity to share these experiences with Legrand in Europe ultimately arriving at Legrand North America in 2008, supporting the continued development of their residential lighting controls category. In 2020 Mark was recruited by WAC Lighting to help guide their Integrator only brand, AiSPIRE.
