Cell signal boosters has been a growing category for integrators for several years now, largely dominated in the custom industry by a couple of companies – SureCall and Wilson Electronics, which are always at the top of CE Pro’s Brand Analysis rankings. Uniden Cellular by Siyata Mobile is an established company that’s joining the custom fray with cell signal booster solutions for home, commercial and in-vehicle.
LaRue Martz, VP of sales for the Americas at Uniden, discusses the company’s products, installation process, trainings and certifications, sales demos, differentiators and more in this week’s CE Pro Podcast episode.
The company has been in business since 2010, and its parent company operates out of Israel. For the Americas, Uniden is based in Montreal, where another acquired Siyata brand, Signifi Mobile, is based.
“My charge here is to bring brand awareness to the Americas, and that’s what we’re going to do,” Martz says, adding that Uniden plays in residential, resimercial and commercial categories. “What we did is put together a suite of products that’s diversified and also competes very well on the market place in each of those categories.”
The first of the company’s three cell phone booster kits is the U60C Cellular Booster Kit. Uniden says this solution can boost as many as 20 cellular devices in small office or residential locations up to 1,500-square feet. The U65C Cellular Booster Kit is a mid-level booster kit capable of boosting up to 30 cellular devices and it covers up to 2,500-square feet.
Uniden’s top-of-the-line cell phone booster kit is the U65XC Cellular Booster Kit. According to the company, the U65XC kit boosts as many as 50 cellular devices, and it is capable of covering up to 4,500-square feet. The company adds that its cell phone kits work with all the major cell phone service carriers in the U.S. and Canada.
Martz says residential solutions increased during the pandemic, but now the shift in growth is going more toward enterprise and SMB.
“Smart homes are becoming smarter, obviously, so not only is it communications with your cell phones but it’s now moved into security, anything that has any kind of connectivity to the outside world … it operates off of a cellular signal,” Martz says.
“As we know, cellular signals sometimes don’t travel well from the outside to the inside, depending on what type of structure you have, so what we’re able to do is bring that outside signal inside to where you need it most, and any kind of space.”
Martz says customers are seeing the value proposition of cell signal booster services more and more these days, and for dealers that makes it an easier pitch. On top of assisting with project system designs, Uniden can work with integrators to figure out how to sell maintenance contracts and other services to up the potential revenue.
