Onkyo has combined performance, feature set, usability, and affordability in rolling out its latest home theater solution, the TX-SR3100 AV receiver.
The 5.2-channel Onkyo TX-SR3100 ($399) ticks of a multitude of boxes for AV enthusiasts seeking the latest immersive audio platforms and video technologies, as well as sound optimization features.
“With HDMI 2.1a support, the Onkyo TX-SR3100 provides a wide range of video resolutions and refresh rates, including 8K60 and 4K120, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats that give engineers the ability to map sound in three-dimensional space,” says Akihisa Watanabe, project leader at Onkyo.
“Newly updated sound quality delivers Onkyo’s dynamic sound and content information in fine detail.”
Onkyo TX-SR3100 Functionalities Include Audio & Video Enhancements
Dolby Atmos & DTS:X: These days, home theater AVRs need to support the latest audio formats, and the TX-SR3100 covers the audio side of the equation with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats. Owners can more closely hear what the sound engineers intended and be enveloped in a richer sonic experience with new and old content.
The Future of Digital Lighting & Control
As a custom integrator, lighting is in demand. Effective communication, education and showcasing the value proposition of LED light fixtures in conjunction with integrative control systems are the keys to overcoming challenges and closing sales in this specialized market. Register Now!HDMI 2.1a with 8K: On the video side, thanks to its HDMI 2.1a support, the Onkyo TX-SR3100 provides a wide range of video resolutions and refresh rates, including 8K60 and 4K120, along with support for Dynamic HDR formats, ALLM, VRR, QFT and SBTM (Source-Based Tone Mapping).
The combination of a 60Hz refresh rate ensures smooth and sharp viewing of high-speed action, the company notes, while HDMI 2.1a with 8K readiness helps integrators deliver clear and pristine picture quality today and as video technology continues to progress.
Dolby Vision and HDR10+: The TX-SR3100 incorporates Dolby Vision and HDR10+ high dynamic range (HDR) technology to enhance content image quality, delivering crisp, clear visuals and dynamic colors right to your living room.
AccuEQ Room Calibration: Onkyo has facilitated simplified audio calibration for integrators by embedding AccuEQ Room Calibration. The technology ensures that the AVR and connected speakers can be perfectly calibrated to varying room conditions, compensating for differences in speaker size and distance.
Vocal Enhancer: Another feature to help installers elevate their customers’ audio is via the Onkyo TX-SR3100’s Vocal Enhancer technology. The company says this emphasizes dialog and vocals by adding the Center element to Front Left and Front Right speakers, so speech intelligibility for viewers, regardless of the volume setting, isn’t muddied up by intense action sequences or very quiet moments during movies and TV content.
Music Optimizer: The TX-SR3100’s Music Optimizer DSP listening mode restores audio files to their original lossless quality, reconstructing data lost during compression, Onkyo explains. This particularly aids formats such as WMA, AAC, and MP3, to achieve greater depth and quality out of customers’ music.
Dolby Atmos Height Virtualizer: This technology creates a virtual surround and height effect from traditional speaker layouts, eliminating the need for additional surround or height speakers, according to Onkyo. That simplifies system design while still providing theater goers with effects that properly sound like they are coming from above and far off.
In other recent news from Onkyo, earlier this year, Premium Audio company, the parent company of Onkyo, introduced Dirac Live Bass Control into the Onkyo TX-RZ7 receiver, allowing integrators to better manage sound quality on systems employing the TX-RZ7.
