The Apex Power Hub Brings Remote Energy Monitoring and Control to AV Systems
While at CEDIA Expo 2023 this week, Apex Technologies introduced an all-new remote Power Hub for its products. Designed to eliminate the need for rolling trucks to address power issues, the Apex Power Hub can remotely identify and remedy problems within a networked AV system.
According to Apex, the Power Hub monitors and controls rack-mounted and large-format voltage regulating double conversion/on-line uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). It also works with a new IP addressable Power Distribution Unit (PDU) manufactured by GUDE Systems (which Apex recently entered into an exclusive distribution deal with).
Kaadas Just Dropped an All-in-One Smart Lock with Biometrics and 1080p Video

The global smart lock manufacturer just debuted a series of smart locks to its portfolio, including a video doorbell smart deadbolt with dual fingerprint biometric scanners and two new Z-Wave smart lock models.
The KA227-V from Kaadas is a robust video doorbell and smart deadbolt all-in-one that includes a wireless chime as well as four different ways to lock/unlock – fingerprint biometrics, PIN code, key, or the Kaadas companion app. Reportedly, the integrated dual fingerprint sensor is capable of recognizing up to 50 unique fingerprints and unlocking the door in as little as 0.3 seconds.

Part of the SurgeX Protect + Connect family, the Vertical Series+ comes in 8, 16 and 24 receptacle configurations, and is fully IP-controllable with SurgeX CONNECT, which itself is a cloud-based solution that enables integrators to monitor and manage power health for fleets of compatible SurgeX devices.

Mythos Series From Definitive Technology to Debut at CEDIA Expo
Definitive Technology has announced the return of its Mythos Series of loudspeakers, which will make their debut at CEDIA 2023 (Booth #3012).
The newly reintroduced product line from Definitive Technology features three on-wall LCR (left, center, right) home theater speakers and three on-wall passive sound bars. The California-based audio company explains the Mythos Series of loudspeakers is designed to match the proportions of 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch class TVs from top manufacturers to enable integrators to create seamless, minimalist installations that complements any home decor.
Indy Audio Labs, AWOL Vision, Phase Tech Partner at CEDIA Expo
Indy Audio Labs, LLC, owner of the high-performance brands Aragon and Acurus brands, will be exhibiting at CEDIA Expo 2023 on Sept. 7-9, 2023 in Denver, in the High Performance Sound Room #202.
Acurus will partner with PhaseTech by MSE Audio, who will host the room. One side of the room will showcase a MUSE 16-channel preamp immersive processor to drive the dARTS 5000 series speakers and DCB410 subwoofers.

Quantum Media Systems Will Be Offering Video Wall Demos at CEDIA Expo by Appointment Only
Remember that killer video wall demo Quantum Media Systems (QMS) had at CEDIA Expo 2022? Well, it’s back and the QMS team is saying that it’s going to be better than ever. It’s also going to be by appointment only to throw a bit of FOMO into the mix.
The demos will take place in Room 207 during CEDIA Expo 2023 and feature a variety of content on an 18-foot-wide QMS XDR3 display set within a custom-built 60-seat theater. The company will also highlight key features and third-party integration partners that make the XDR stand out from other digital signage. These include integrations with third-party control systems for synchronous operation with media servers, lights and other devices.
