It’s the battle of big screens once again at CEDIA Expo 2023. Between product announcements from Samsung, Hisense, and now LG, the luxury display market has been gifted some nice options this year. Priced at $237,000 MSRP, the new 118-inch LG MAGNIT 4K microLED residential display will be showing at LG’s Booth at the Colorado Convention Center (#3107).
This follows an announcement made earlier this year where LG stated it would be pushing towards building out its residential and commercial display models (among others) while also pursuing a platform-based service model for sales involving its webOS smart TV platform.
According to LG Electronics USA Senior Vice President Michael Kosla, this new 118-inch MAGNIT display is designed to hit the “sweet spot” between the LG MAGNIT 136-inch residential microLED display and the award-winning 97-inch class LG SIGNATURE OLED M wireless TV (both also featured at CEDIA Expo).
Measuring about 9.8 feet diagonally, the display’s construction is based on LG’s DVLED (direct-view light-emitting diode) technology pioneered for enormous commercial displays and features a 0.6 mm pixel pitch, crisp 4K resolution, robust chip-on-board (COB) LED technology and AI-enhanced image processing.
A mainstay in many LG displays, the company’s Alpha 9 processor gives a performance boost to the top-tier image quality already expected of with microLED displays. Using artificial intelligence deep learning technology, the display can reduce picture noise and optimize color saturation and contrast based on room circumstances.

The 120-Hz display is optimized for a variety of content in indoor home environments, with 250 nits of brightness delivering high performance and visibility even in sun-lit rooms.
A pair of integrated 50-watt speakers and a stand or wall mount enable standalone installations, while WiSA connectivity enables seamless use of high-fidelity wireless speakers. This includes Bang & Olufsen Beolab 90 speakers, which recently received special integrations with MAGNIT TVs as part of a partnership between LG and Bang & Olufsen.
The display even integrates AirPlay 2 and Miracast technology that allows users to wirelessly stream content from virtually any iOS, Android, macOS or Windows 10 device. The included Art Gallery and My Digital Picture Frame features, also give users the ability to turn the display into a gargantuan art piece when not in use.
Kosla is also quick to note that, while the specs are catered towards luxury clients, this microLED comes with integrators in mind, as well. Specially certified LG MAGNIT integrators will appreciate the display’s simple two-cabinet design that can be installed in just a fraction of the time as other modular displays.
These LG microLED displays come with a standard limited warranty of two years with an optional three-year extension for a total of five years.
