Bond (booth #1838) and Screen Innovations (booth #1832) are pleased to announce that Screen Innovations motorized window shades, film screens and associated accessories are now compatible with the Bond Bridge Pro RF-to-WiFi device hub and Sidekick for Shades Gen2 wireless RF keypad.
The Bond Bridge Pro RF-to-WiFi device hub ($379 MSRP) brings app-based control of fifty appliances in a 3,500 sq. ft. home. For larger jobs multiple Bond Bridge Pros can be used. The Bridge integrates with Crestron, Savant, Control4, Elan, RTI, URC, Apple HomePod and HomeKit, and Homebridge automation, and for voice control Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, SmartThings Apps and Josh.ai.
Bond parent company Olibra and SI Labs worked together to develop integration between the Bond Bridge Pro and TRO.Y – Screen Innovations’ IP Control and commissioning gateway for unified control of the brand’s 485, Zigbee and RTS shades and screens. Now, by integrating the two on a jobsite, SI’s wired and wireless motorized window shades, film screens and accessories can be controlled through the Bond Home App (iOS and Android phones).
The app brings to the SI installations the latest in smartphone control, scheduling and programming, and voice control via any of Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomePod and HomeKit. The installer simply selects Screen Innovations during setup and follows the prompts. The app provides direct access to Bond’s 24/7 customer service.
Bond’s newest universal, wireless (RF), flush-mount keypad, Sidekick for Shades Gen2 ($99 MSRP), is also compatible with the SI products. When mated with the Bond Bridge Pro and an automation system, the keypad’s capabilities increase. This includes extended range plus depiction of the operational status of the shades (opening, closing, etc). The keypad ships with interchangeable 5- and 1-channel button pads; a decora faceplate (attaches to wall or control box), and 10-year replaceable coin cell battery.
Screen Innovations will be demonstrating the Bond Bridge Pro and Sidekick for Shades Gen2 at CEDIA Expo 2023 (booth # 1832). This new joint-integration will also be a hot topic at the Bond booth (#1838) where dealers can discuss all the new capabilities first-hand with Bond CEO Zohar Shinar and team.
“Now every product that SI produces can be controlled in a single Bond Home App,” says SI’s CTO Michael Braithwaite. “This includes draperies, shades, smart plugs and outlets, indoor and outdoor projection screens. Essentially, all motor topologies including Sub GHz, SDN (485), Zigbee, and PoE,” adding, “This is especially useful for the company’s popular Lithium wire free Solo 3 screens.”
“In addition to the many benefits that our new joint-integration brings to SI dealers, it also represents a first for Bond – the ability to now control Zigbee motors from leading companies such as Somfy and Current Luxury with Alexa voice control in the Bond Home App. If you are a dealer that buys from us yet are not currently using SI, you should consider this combined Bond/SI solution based on the motors that you are using (for example, Zigbee),” says Olibra/Bond CEO Zohar Shinar.
The two companies are hosting the info-session The Future of Shade Control with Bond and SI Friday, September 8, from 1-2:30 PM in Room 710. The session will focus on raising customer experiences, improving profitability, and simplifying shade design and system deployments. Covered will be the how’s and why’s of controlling projects from the single and powerful Bond Home App, the result of the joint Bond and SI development.
Bond will also appear at multiple booths throughout CEDIA Expo 2023, showcasing the latest integrations with the company’s bridge.
As of timing of this announcement dealers can purchase all Bond solutions directly from www.bondhome.io, and Screen Innovations dealers can now purchase the Bond Bridge Pro and Sidekick for Shades Gen2 directly from SI.
