It makes sense that as a company so renowned for its design like Basalte, you would want to make a good first impression with a product. And what better place to make that impression than the entryway of a home? Long renowned for its keypads and enclosures in American markets, Basalte’s Adelante is a surprisingly customizable video doorbell that continues in that tradition of high-style meets high tech.
“At home, everything starts at your doorstep. That is why we now bring our sophisticated design from inside your home to your front door,” states Klaas Arnout, CEO of Basalte.
Designed to be directly integrated into the Basalte Home smart living system, Adelante is also capable of operating as a standalone product using Basalte’s Lena touchscreen as the main interface.
The primary video doorbell function of Adelante comes with a 5.5-inch full HD OLED touch display with super-high contrast that feeds back to Lena inside the home where a homeowner can view connected security and doorbell camera feeds, unlock the door or communicate with visitors through video chat.
Basalte also notes that Adelante can be built to include alternative entry methods such as a badge reader or biometric fingerprint scanner.
The Future of Digital Lighting & Control
As a custom integrator, lighting is in demand. Effective communication, education and showcasing the value proposition of LED light fixtures in conjunction with integrative control systems are the keys to overcoming challenges and closing sales in this specialized market. Register Now!In a video produced for Adelante’s launch Basalte highlights the product’s modularity by showing how each component and feature might come together to form a completed video doorbell solution. From the touchpad to the fingerprint reader to the camera, every part of Adelante is customizable to client preferences, according to Basalte.
Adelante is also capable of being either wall or pole mounted, allowing for versatile positioning of the main entry point for the home.
While Basalte has come to create a variety of products over the years, such as multiroom audio solutions and media servers, the company perhaps remains best known for its control interfaces and enclosures.
Its Sentido offers a minimalistic take on lighting and shading controls and has become the company’s unofficial calling card when it comes to design alongside its Fibonacci control plate, which has garnered considerable popularity within the custom integration industry.
With Adelante, Basalte states it aims to bring that same signature style to outside the home so visitors and guests can be greeted with world-class design before they have even set foot inside the door.
To this end, Adelante also comes available with every premium Basalte finish to blend in with every home aesthetic as needed.
Given Basalte’s popularity in both design and tech communities, combined with a rising interest among consumers for video doorbell solutions, and a general push by many integrators to take on more luxury projects, Adelante at first glance ticks a lot of boxes that make it worth keeping on the radar for future projects.
The plug and play nature of the system’s features also offer a relatively straightforward means of customization on the part of the integrator while providing a simple, intuitive interface for homeowners as well.
