CEDIA has announced a new collaboration featuring Origin Acoustics, and Netgear. Citing the importance (and cost) of education of within the industry, the teams at Netgear and Origin will be donating smart home devices from their respective categories to assist with the practical and hands-on network education courses and training CEDIA offers.
Specifically, CEDIA notes that the donation will allow the association to update its networking education labs with 20 cutting-edge workstations, featuring the latest in network technology. Designed to provide real-world networking experience through hands-on demonstrations, the labs themselves are meant to help aspiring integrators navigate the more complex environments often met in smart home systems.
The collaboration aims to foster a deeper understanding of network design, installation and maintenance, thereby producing a new generation of professionals equipped to tackle the challenges and opportunities presented by the evolving smart home landscape.
The donation fromOrigin and Netgear, CEDIA declares, will help ensure that the association’s educational offerings remain at the forefront of industry knowledge.
In speaking on the topic, Joe Whitaker, Vice President of Commercial for Origin Acoustics, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, citing Origin’s foundational belief in CEDIA’s educational and training curriculum, specifically stating the network to be “the foundation of any smart home.”

Earlier this year, Origin Acoustics demonstrated its dedication to enhancing industry education by providing state-of-the-art architectural audio solutions for CEDIA technician trainings. This new collaboration with NETGEAR solidifies their commitment to supporting the training and certification of today’s smart home professionals.
This is not the first time Netgear and Origin Acoustics have partnered with one another, either, as earlier this year, Origin Acoustics partnered with Netgear to help resell and support Netgear’s CI-focused wired and wireless networking products from the company’s newly created Netgear AV division.
