Custom installation and AV distributor Blackwire Designs continues to do more than just distribute, as the company is launching its WiZ Pro Driver for Control4, bringing new convenience and customization to smart lighting control.
This integrates all WiZ smart lighting devices into the Control4 ecosystem enabling users to manage brightness, color and scenes using Control4 solutions including touch panels, remotes or smartphone apps.
According to Blackwire, the WiZ Pro for Control4 Driver detects WiZ Pro-compatible devices on the local network and automatically installs device drivers into the Control4 project, which the company says helps simplify the setup process.
With the driver’s control options, users can adjust RGB colors, color temperature and brightness. With Control4 OS 3.3.2, users can access a native color wheel and CCT options to further fine tune their lighting settings.

The WiZ Pro Driver for Control4 also offers a range of advanced lighting scene support, including two-way control functionality. The integration also includes keypad controls, offering customizable button bindings for essential functional such as On/Off/Toggle/CCT and RGB modes.

The WiZ Pro Driver for Control4 comes after the company introduced its Blacklight lighting design tool at CEDIA Expo 2023. The tool helps integrators design lighting solutions and generates a purchase order for the custom lighting system design and calculates all equipment required.
According to Blackwire, it even manages electrical calculations for wattage, tape length, voltage drop, supply wiring gauge, and load capacity for power supplies and connected control devices with built-in error correction.
