PoEWit Technologies’ latest product is the new WAP-20 Wi-Fi 6 outdoor wireless access point (WAP).
Built to live in a range of outdoor environments, the new access point from the PoE lighting, PoE motion detector and custom networking company incorporates an IP67-rated enclosure, and it can withstand temperatures as cold as -40 degrees Fahrenheit. PoEWit says that it developed the WAP-20 Wi-Fi 6 access point to last homeowners for years without having to sacrifice performance or reliability.
Internally, the new outdoor wireless access point offers integrators and their clients an enterprise-grade, dual-band, dual-concurrent Wi-Fi 6 solution that supports four spatial streams (2×2 in 2.4GHz; 2×2 in 5GHz) to enable reliable and secure connectivity to multiple devices simultaneously.
PoEWit points out the WAP-20 Wi-Fi 6 outdoor wireless access point features a 2.4 Gigabit PoE point and 1.0 Gigabit Ethernet Pass-Through port to meet the growing need for wireless speeds over 1.0 Gigabit. The outdoor WAP also includes a SFP fiber port that supports network connectivity at distances up to six miles from the central hub.
The PoE equipment manufacturer also notes that its latest WAP employs three wireless radios and a large, multi-core CPU that when combined with its Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) can disable non-critical radios during a power failure to preserve backup battery energy.
