Salamander Designs really should consider rebranding the entire company as Chameleon Designs at this point given how many personalization options it’s opening up across its product portfolios. While at CEDIA Expo 2023, the company announced not only the new Siena styles for its Chameleon cabinet collection, but also several new fabric and color options for its seating products and a general expansion in customization across both product portfolios.
Siena Brings 20 New Styles to Chameleon Cabinets
The new Siena design comes with 20 different finishes such as natural oak, medium walnut, wenge oak, and more that can be mixed and matched with multiple AV cabinet tops such as wood, black glass and solid surface white and black. The new finishes in oak and walnut are also applied with water-based stains, making them more environmentally friendly choices.
The new additions to the Chameleon line also include include a variety of cabinet feet and base options, doors with configurations in 20”, 30”, 50” and 60” in standard and slim low-profile versions.
These new customization options, Salamander states, are slated to be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
Additionally, Salamander has also shared its plans to release a new web-based residential Cabinet Designer set to debut in 2024. Using it, integrators will reportedly be able to design their own cabinets using the company’s personalization options to develop a suitable preview of the product based on client vision and style.

Salamander Designs Adds New Style, Comfort, Protection to Seating Lines
Alongside its cabinet line, Salamander has also announced new style options for its lineup of home theater seating, which includes the addition of three new luxury fabrics into the mix. These include Alpaca, a soft, silky, wool-like fabric; Whisper, a woven, velvet-like fabric; and Julia, a soft, low-pile and dense Chenille fabric.
Salamander has also updated its leather palette, which now totals 75 colors including various blue tones and rich shades of terracotta, gray, purple and more. These new designer options are available across Salamander’s sectionals and couches, single and dual seats and home theater row seats.
This news comes with the introduction of Salamander’s new Guardian Protection Plan for all custom seating. This new plan provides added protection for all Salamander seating and covers stains, rips, cuts, punctures or burns from a specific incident, and breakage or breakdown of frames, springs, motors, and sleeper, reclining, inclining, heating and vibrating mechanisms.
The company has also stated it will be celebrating its 30th anniversary while at CEDIA Expo 2023. Salamander Designs will be located at booth #1520 for attendees looking to preview the new designs in person while at CEDIA Expo 2023.
