Smart home and intelligent energy solutions provider Savant Systems has announced its acquisition of POMCube, Inc., an energy storage systems (ESS) specialist, to boost its Savant Power portfolio. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“As part of our vision to create brighter lives and a more sustainable world, we’re continually looking to improve energy efficiency and independence on the path to Net Zero,” says Bob Madonna, Savant Systems CEO.
“No home can be truly intelligent without smart power and by bolstering our energy technology portfolio we have taken another important step toward our goal of making every home smart.”
For nearly a decade, Dublin, Calif.-based POMCube has been at the forefront of developing and deploying energy storage systems (ESS) that are helping to facilitate the use of clean energy and provide battery backup in residences and commercial locations throughout North America and Asia, states Savant.
Moving forward, POMCube will function under the brand and management of Savant, whose increasingly growing Savant Power division — launched just over two years ago after it acquired Racepoint Energy — offers power storage and a patented, flexible load management system that can fuel its whole-house controls and subsystems.
The Future of Digital Lighting & Control
As a custom integrator, lighting is in demand. “From day one we set out to speed up the energy transition with a state-of-the-art inverter and battery technology, and now as part of Savant we can broaden our reach to make a greater impact.”
Addition of POMCube Strengthens Robust Savant Power System
The POMCube move elevates the Savant Power ecosystem, which the company says complements any solar panel installation with whole-home battery backup and load management.
Incorporating a scalable inverter from 7.5kW to 125kW with battery storage scaling from 10kWh to 200kWh of LFP batteries, the robust Savant Power solution can back up power to any size home for days, Savant says. The iCAN NetZero+, iCAN Mega and iCAN NetZero+ Flex (coming soon) solar energy battery products help provide reliable 24/7 electricity support, according to the POMCube website.
Savant’s software platform allows for easy monitoring, control, and automation of every circuit, optimizing efficiency, reducing costs, and maximizing the life of the battery, it states.
Custom integrators can set Energy Modes, which can be activated at the touch of a button via Savant’s Scenes Engine. Eco Mode, Storm Watch Mode, and Off-Grid Mode allow customers to be ready for any scenario while prioritizing the use of stored energy and local generation to reduce grid dependence, Savant adds.
The Savant Power System combined with the lighting, entertainment, security, and lifestyle comfort portfolios of Savant smart home and GE Lighting, a Savant company, helps dealers deliver a wide-ranging whole-home automation solution controllable by a single app.
“This uniquely positions the company as a key partner that can help solar installers provide seamless smart home and energy solutions to their customers and help homeowners and builders create the Net Zero smart home of the future,” the company states.
Additionally, integrators can discuss with clients how a complete Savant Power System and components are eligible for tax credits, as well as other government subsidies via the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Savant says it is also exploring opportunities under government programs to manufacture Savant inverters and backup batteries here in the United States.
