Premium Audio Company (PAC), a provider of audio solutions, has released a firmware update for many of its Integra, Onkyo, and Pioneer audio video receivers (AVRs) that will improve the functionality, connectivity, and the overall user experience.
The company states the firmware updates allow integrators to optimize Klipsch architectural speakers, enhance custom integration functionality and ease of use, and improve display performance.
Klipsch Optimized Mode
In addition to the new Klipsch Reference Premiere and Reference speakers, Integra and Onkyo AVRs now include the precise crossover values for Klipsch Custom, Design, Pro and THX architectural speakers, as well as the new Klipsch Reference Premiere subwoofers, eliminating any guesswork or sometimes arbitrary settings assigned by many automatic room calibration solutions.
AVRs with Klipsch Optimized Mode for Klipsch architectural products include:
- Onkyo TX-RZ70, TX-RZ50, TX-NR7100, TX-NR6100, TX-NR5100 and TX-NR6050
- Integra DRX-8.4, DRX-5.4, DRX-3.4, DRX-2.4
PAC Custom Integration (CI) Feature Improvements
PAC states that its engineers have significantly expanded Integra AVR’s CI functionality. Installing and customizing premium home entertainment experiences has never been simpler with the following improvements:
Web Setup
- Access Web Setup by IP address from any browser-based device
- HDCP timing adjust increases compatibility across connected devices
- Sink test now includes bandwidth to determine maximum resolution of signal over cable runs
- Firmware Update command now available within Web Setup
Other improvements include:
- Input Skip functionality added to minimize user error
- Control protocol addition for Dirac Slot 1Â-3 toggle selection so users can compare Dirac curves more easily (Dirac equipped models only)

- Integra DRX 8.4, DRX-5.4, DRX-3.4, DRX-2.4 Â
Additional Advanced Onscreen and App Display Features
With the firmware update, Integra, Onkyo, and Pioneer now have additional on-screen and app displays to enhance user experience and improve gaming experiences. With added Gaming Awareness specs on the Onscreen Display, users will now see feedback from the AVR to ensure the gaming system is proving the exact settings you’ve selected including:
- Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM)
- Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)
HDMI Source-Based Tone Mapping (SBTM) information has also been added to info (video) display, in addition to other minor improvements to enhance overall system stability.
